Well, it truly was a beautiful day for our MS walk! Our team and all of the others set off at 10 am and the 5 km walk was so nice - especially because of the gorgeous sunshine and beautiful weather. Brantford raised $35,000 for MS and I was surprised to find out that I was the second highest fundraiser! What a nice suprise and honour! I am very grateful for all of the support that I have received every year that I have done this walk. It means alot to us all.
After the walk, Todd, myself and my two nieces, Jessica and Kaitlyn, came back to our house and did quite a bit of yard work and we set up the gazebo cover as well. They were such a great help and it was a nice afternoon to spend with family!
Here's to a good week for us all and I will definitely do some stitching this week!
Happy Stitching!
Last night we gathered down at the Community centre for stitching and yours truly was very quiet. Sometimes I just enjoy sitting back and listening to everyone's conversations and not contributing anything myself. Most people who know me well know that silence is not a "normal" pattern of behaviour but sometimes I just get quiet. Heck, I didn't even stitch until the last hour we were there. The silence was heard by most of us there and at times the only sounds were needles pulling threads. That is a nice silence on it's own.
Conversation did go towards our upcoming Stitching Retreat and we all agree that it will be here before we know it. It is always a great weekend and I am really looking forward to it as well.
Here is to everyone having a good remainder of the week and Happy Stitching!
Well, here are the updated pictures from this past Hermit weekend. This is a design called Sam Snowboy and I can't remember the designer but this I love the colours in this one!
Here's to everyone enjoying their week and Happy Stitching!
Well, since I still haven't tried or attempted to make a bucket list - I thought I might start off with a Stitching Bucket list. I have always steered away from patterns that have different kinds of stitches and I have played it safe with just "regular" stitches and I know I could do this once I am shown how. The women in my stitching group are so incredibly talented and they make we want to expand my stitching expertise and learn other wonderful ways to stitch and to put things together. Once I get some different stitching under my belt - maybe it's time to put a regular bucket list together. Food for though indeed.
Well, I think for now I will do some stitching tonight while catching up on some of my taped shows and gearing up the for beginning of another work week.
Here's to everyone taking a small step outside of their comfort zone and Happy Stitching!
As quite a few of you know I am participating in the MS walk on behalf of my cousin, Brett. The support that I have received the last few years has been great and I hope to be able to do well again this year. If anyone is able to help out and donate - you can visit the MS website (www.mssociety.ca ) and go under my name (Trina Lucek) or the team's name (Brett's Brigade) and go from there.
On another note, I hope to get some stitching done this weekend and just relax. It has been a busy week at work and I can't wait to relax over the weekend. Hopefully the weather will be a little warmer and I hope everyone can enjoy their weekend and relaxes in their own way.
Happy Stitching!
